Are you a fan of Malay Folk Dance? A fan of traditionally clad youths dancing in unison? Then come watch the dancers from Sang Singa Purba dance their heart out in conjunction with Singapore's Racial Harmony Day and a dance event as part of CLAP! They will be performing a traditional middle-eastern mixed with modern flava' dance number entitled "Zapin Wangsa!" choreographed by our very own Md Aizat Haykel.
Choreographer's Note: Zapin Wangsa is an interpretation of the Sanskrit word "Wangsa", which means "The Heir of Heritage" or "Dynasty". This dance aims to showcase the harmony and strength as a result of weaving tradition with modernity. Performed by our young ladies and gentlemen whose dedication to Malay arts and culture will continue the dynasty of SangSingaPurba Performing Arts group.
